Our Village Podcast S1E1 –

Body No Be Firewood

Tobi Balogun &

Tobi Omoteso

with Tobi Balogun & Tobi Omoteso

Hosted by Tobi Bello

In the first episode of the OUR Village Archive podcast, we sit with two of Ireland’s most dynamic cultural voices — Tobi Balogun, a dancer, fashion designer, and creative force, and Tobi Omoteso, a choreographer, DJ, chef, and longtime community builder.

Together, we explore what it means to move through the world as Black artists in Ireland — through our bodies, our creativity, and our names. This episode is a reflection on rest, dual identity, belonging, and the pressure to always keep going. The title, Body No Be Firewood, becomes a mantra — a reminder that even when the world asks for more, we’re allowed to pause, reflect, and take care.

This conversation is honest, full of warmth, and rooted in lived experience. It sets the tone for a season dedicated to storytelling, visibility, and honoring ourselves.
